Checks & Balances is a Paying Agent. That means that we process payroll and remit taxes under your company’s name and tax ID number.
So that you can focus on what you do best, we handle the following details:
If your production has a few more details to be managed, such as Workers’ Compensation coverage, we have a solution for that too through our sister company, Cast & Crew Live Entertainment:
Cast & Crew Live Entertainment acts as an EOR taking care of a host of administrative details while your production acts as a Common Law Employer (CLE). That’s a very official-sounding term that means you decide who you hire, when they work, and when their role in your production wraps up. Cast & Crew Live Entertainment EOR services include:
- Calculating and issuing payments to cast and crew based on hours submitted, wage & hour laws and Actors Equity, IATSE and other union agreements (if applicable).
- Withholding and remitting federal, state and local taxes from paychecks of cast and crew working on your show.
- Remitting employer taxes to federal, state and local tax authorities on our client’s behalf.
- Complying with tax laws and employment regulations, filing necessary reports and tracking the payment history of each performer or crew member.
- Providing workers’ compensation coverage for each cast and crew member paid by EOR.
- Issuing W-2s at the end of the year under the EOR’s EIN.
- Handling all unemployment and workers’ compensation claims.
